I’m a Junior Electrical Engineering Major with minors in Mechatronics and Astrophysics from Delmar, New York. Phi Sigma Pi has given me a really large and diverse group of people that are all willing to do interesting things with one another. In fact, my favorite thing about Phi Sigma Pi is how easy it is to establish meaningful connections with any of the Brothers in the Chapter. Everyone in Phi Sigma Pi is always willing to go out of their way to make a new friend which is something I admire about all of the Members and is a big contributor to our sense of cohesion as a Fraternity. Last semester, one of the highlight events that ended up a being a big success was a Mario Kart tournament that was held inside of Cafe Nova. During the event, Brothers competed to try to win the tournament by racing each other in a one on one format in front of their peers. What made the event such a success was the varying skill-levels of the brothers coupled with the low-key nature of the event, leading to some funny moments during the tournament that were enjoyed by all. I hope that potential new members will attend Recruitment because they are looking for a group that gives them a reminder of that spark that made them commit to Villanova in the first place. “Community” is a word that has shown up in every Villanova promotional pamphlet to ever be made, and I know for a lot of the brothers, Phi Sigma Pi is where they really find that. Putting yourself out there can be especially difficult during a Pandemic, where most have us have been rather isolated for the good part of the last year, but I hope that potential new members find both our Brothers and Recruitment process welcoming.
