Is this organization legitimate?
Yes, we are a legit nonprofit organization. Now, of course, we would say that, but we are over 105 years strong and based on 120+ campuses and geographical locations throughout the United States. Additionally, we are proud to have over 55,000 inducted Members with the mission to improve humanity with honor through Scholarship, Leadership and Fellowship.
Is this an honor society?
Phi Sigma Pi is an active professional organization. We are the perfect blend of a service organization, honor society and a social group. We pride ourselves on bringing additional experiences to our Members beyond what traditional societies are designed to provide.
What are Membership requirements?
- Fill out the Enrollment Form
- Complete the interactive, online Member Education Program
- Become a Member through the Induction Ceremony
What are some of the benefits of joining?
What each Member takes away from Membership is different. But, we can share there are basic benefits and programs such as:
- Membership Pin
- Access to a leadership certificate and specialization program
- Availability for a letter of recommendation
- President's Volunteer Service Award honors
- Opportunity to wear a graduation cord
- Notable leadership experience for those starting a new chapter, and much more.
How long will the Member Program take?
A great aspect of joining Phi Sigma Pi is that the Membership Program (education program) time commitment is completely up to you once you register. We understand that flexibility is key. The program is designed into 5 learning components and 1 activities component. The learning components have 1-5 sections that range from 3 - 20 minutes each.
Are there Membership Fees?
Yes, as a nonprofit organization that provides opportunities to advance humanity, there is a one-time membership fee. When joining directly through the National Office the membership fee is $299 $249. For the Fall 2023 term, you are receiving a $50 academic scholarship toward your membership. With your scholarship, your one-time membership fee is $249 (originally $299). Your scholarship has already been applied and is reflected.

Are there other ways to gain membership?
Yes, if there is an established Chapter on your campus already - great! Please contact the Chapter directly. Check out our Chapter list at: phisigmapi.org/FindaChapter
Looking to establish a Chapter on your campus?
That is the initiative we at Phi Sigma Pi highly value. Phi Sigma Pi Membership is designed as a three-part approach for starting a Chapter on your campus. The steps for establishing a Chapter are;
1. Individuals on your campus complete the Membership Program.
2. Students expressing interest and who have completed the program will work alongside the National Office and other campus Members to prepare a petition.
3. Petition the school for recognition.
