State of the Fraternity Address

Acknowledging 5 Star Regional Conferences

Vice President of Chapter Development Kyle Williams and Vice President of Chapter Development-elect David Serafini recognized the following regions for their 5 Star Region Conferences:

    • Dominion Region, hosted by the Alpha Omicron Chapter
    • East Region, hosted by the Alpha Theta Chapter

Recognizing Philanthropy

Vice President of Philanthropy Development Katie Peachey shared that the 2013 Alternative Break location will be announced in October.

Vice President of Chapter Development Kyle Williams announced that new recruitment campaign materials are available to all Chapters for their rush.  Phi Sigma Pi Foundation Membership Meeting Overview

The Phi Sigma Pi Foundation elected the following members to the Board of Directors for the three-year term:

Leadership in Action Modules Debuted

Two new national modules debuted at National Convention:

  • Challenging Negative Attitudes - Attitude is Everything

Idea Labs

Ideas labs are facilitated workshops. Core ideas were shared followed during these idea labs and then Brothers had an opportunity to engage with other Chapters to generate ideas.

Alumni and Faculty Adviser Training

This session shared how to make the most of being an Adviser, including learning more about Risk Management and reviewing the Ritual.

50th Annual Awards Banquet

The Keynote Speech was given by Brother David Serafini, Beta Phi's Chapter Adviser and newly elected Vice President of Chapter Development.   Video

LiA Certified Brothers Recognized

The following Brothers were recognized for achieving 75 points in the Leadership in Action program thereby becoming LiA Certified.  Among other things, these Brothers have earned the right to include the letters "LIA" after their names (seen below, "ABP" indicates Alternative Break Project Corps Members).   Video

New Award Announced: During the banquet, the National Council announced the creation of the Josh and Britt Marder Excellence in National Philanthropy Award. This award will recognize our Chapters’ outstanding efforts to our national philanthropy, Teach For America. Thank you to Brothers Josh Marder (Alpha Rho Chapter ‘97) and Britt Marder (Alpha Rho Chapter ‘97) for their continued commitment and financial support of the Fraternity’s national philanthropy. This award will be awarded starting at next year’s Annual Awards Banquet & Presentation.

Fundraising Success

  • After Brother David Serafini's keynote speech and a call to action from The Foundation's National President Colleen Donathan, Brothers pledged donations to the Subrosa "Brother-in-Need" Fund. That night, $8,000 was raised for the fund!    Video
